following descriptions for custom Test Set cords
are but a sampling of the custom cable assemblies
that Aines Manufacturing Corp. offers. |

because you don't see it, it doesn't mean we can't
make it!! |
| These
cords are manufactured from tinsel conductor,
insulated with PVC, and are nylon braided with
material which meets MIL SPEC. C-83501. Materials
used in the manufacture of the AINES replacement
test set cords meet both AT&T and Bellcore
specifications. All cords, clips, and boots are
manufactured in the United States at our Ronkonkoma,
New York plant. |

Clip |
| Clip
material is nickel silver. This clip
has a 20 degree offset jaws to gaurd
against shorting. The 6A clip has
a single penetrator pin positioned
near the fulcrim for easier penetration
of heavier insulation. The penetrator
pin is replaceable in the field. |

Clip |
| Clip
material is nickel silver. This clip
has a 20 degree offset jaws to gaurd
against shorting. The 6P clip in addition
to a single penetrator pin positioned
near the fulcrim has a cluster of
hardened needles (nickel plated to
prevent rust) which insures penetration
of insulation on 19 to 26 gauge wires.
Two or more wires may be penetrated
at once for a temporary "splice".
The insulation "heals" as
needles are withdrawn. Stripping of
insulation is unnecessary. |

Plug Resistor |
| This
cord is fitted with a 346A type plug
and switchable 1500 ohm resistor and
is approximately 18" long. When
switched on, the resistor is inserted
in series with the ring side of the
cord to simulate a long loop condition. |

Plug Cord |
| This
cord is fitted with a 346A type plug
and is approximately 1' long. The
plug allows the use of a variety of
different test cords equipped with
the matching 471A type connector.

Ground Start |
| The
cord consists of three conductors
with heavy duty alligator clips offset
20 degrees. In addition one of the
ring conductors has a banana jack
connected to it. This jack is located
6" below the test set and is
partially covered by the exterior
fabric of the cord. This allows for
the second ring conductor to be removed
when the ground start feature is not
needed. The overall length of this
cord is 4 feet. |

| Consists

with jackets of braided nylon, 5 ft.
long. Each conductor is fitted with
the heavy duty alligator clips, offset

and rubber boots. The first 12"
of the leads are enclosed within a
second nylon braid. |
